My XK8's at the shop getting a total repaint (and color change to 'Sable', the early '70's XKE color. Original is a Sherwood Green) and I've had the 3rd brake light removed and holes plugged for the painting. Just wanted to clean the lines along with removal of the body side moldings. What 'technical' issues if any will I run into? Thanks.

 

Someone else will need to address the technical issues (codes may appear for brake light out), but the larger issue is legality. I bet in CA this is a No-No. Better check first.

 

Not an 'uncommon' mod out here on the high end cars which doesn't seem to get too much notice by LEOs.

 

No problem with faults, just remove it like you have done
