Smile 500 Bucks Later......

Hi, this is a followup to my last posts about the hit and run:
https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...-parked-89660/

Got it back today and I have to say it does look really nice. I had to pay the deductible on my comprehensive through Geico but overall I'm pleased. The major work was obviously the body damage. It says on the itemized work order that they did a sheet metal pull and of course it smells a lot like a Bondo Xmas in the trunk! Had to clean out the spare tire well and battery as they had bondo dust all over them, details details!
The other major thing was they replaced the rear lamp on that side, thankfully I got the adjuster to go along with it since it had a slight crack in it that was not there when I took pictures of it 4 days before the hit-run.
Parts Total(lamp): 232.20
Labor Total: 1127
Paint+Hazardous waste:197

Looks like nice work. You got it all sorted out pretty fast too, which is always good.

Finally! Body damage that didn't cause the insurance company to use the "total" word.

Platinum Silver is so difficult to match and blend, don't expect perfection in that dept. On two of my body panels, I can see the blending areas because I am a perfectionist. Yours looks good from over here though!

I am always amazed at just how well these body shops manage to return damaged vehicles to as good as new. All that work would have cost twice what you paid here in Europe.

That was quick! Over here the insurers would have still been talking about it.

Looks a good job and a lot less $$'s than I was expecting.

I always thought that was just the exchange rate BS? I was looking at Jaguar World mag last week at a bookstore and it had an xk8 in the back ads for 9000 Pounds, well that's about what it is here just in Dollars. I did pay 9% taxes on the purchase too but that's just California rates, other states would be lower other than NY.
