It is worth noting that the expansion tank may have been replaced at some point in the car's history. Mine currently says to use orange fluid, but that is because I had to order a new tank... and apparently Jagbits ships tanks with the later model sticker. I'm not sure what the previous tank said, if it was even the original.

My 98 says absolutely nothing on the expansion tank. Which I think was typical for that year.

Maybe I should go about this differently. Lets try this..

What coolant (not Dexcool, or Jaguar for reasons already stated) would you say would be best for my 98 aluminum engine?

I think I had the green stuff (Prestone?) in the '98. There's got to be something in the owners manual - thought this site had copies of that kind of thing somewhere...
