Default 98 XK8 sideview mirrors interchangeable with other models??

Here's one for you... The previous owner of my 98 XK8 obviously knocked the driver's sideview mirror off at some point. The mounting was broken so, instead of replacing the mirror or getting a new mounting bracket... He screwed the mirror back onto the car with metal screws! Amazing! (picture attached just for the humor of what some people will do)

Anyway, my question is whether or not other models sideviews are interchangeable with the XK8? For instance, are the mirrors on a 98 XKR the same as the XK8? What about an XJ? Please forgive my ignorance, but as well as being new to the forum, I am new to Jaguar. Thanks guys (and gals)

I'm pretty sure any 1997-2003 year will fit...looking at the parts diagrams in our FAQ thread it confirms the MY split on design. If you're looking for used parts, try these places first - Specialized Parts Planet in CA, they're a sponsor of the forum, be sure you know what color paint code you have beforehand. Ken at motorcars ltd is a member here, and he has a few salvage xk8s also, but less likely to find a perfect color match...you may end up painting the housing, which i estimate around $200 if you just bring it into the body shop removed from the car.
g'luck!

The actual part you seem to have broke is XK specific, however the mirror housing is used on XJs and early Aston DB9s

So, to clarify, any XK/XJ 1997-2003 or or only XK8 1997-2003?

Sorry, got side tracked and then saw that last post. So I do need to make sure that the mounting bracket is XK... but I'm assuming it could be either XK8 or XKR.

Thanks guys!
