Default 98XK8 Factory Rim Fitment Question

Will these nice 6 star jaguar rims fit my 1998 xk8? they are 16", and what tire size should I go with for them.

Stock rims are the 17" UGLY fan blades IN THE LINK BELOW, I HATE THESE RIMS.

I personally agree on the stock rims. They make me think of that alien stuck on the guy's face. Regardless, I wouldn't go under 17in. You're going to need a very tall tire that will look strange and will affect handling a bit and likely throw speedo off. There are some good choices at 17 and bigger that should do for you. I've got the stock Lamina's on my 2000 and while they are not flashy, they are easy to clean and look passable. Easy to find as well as folks take them off to go to 19 and 20. Good luck.

do you know the correct wheel specs that i need before purchase, meaning the bolt pattern?

are we 5 lug 4.75 /121mm high offset(whatever that means)?

5(lugs)x4.75(inch bolt patter)/120.7(offset) is what the aftermarket uses, the actual size is
5(lugs) x 4.75"(bolt pattern) by 121mm offset, so they will fit snug.

offset 20mm(added notes)

So, does this mean that aftermarket wheels intended for Vettes and Camaros will fit our cars? What year Vettes and Camaros?

OP, those stock wheels you called the "fan blades" are actually named Revolvers. The more you know...

Keep an eye on eBay. Good wheel deals can be had... https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...olvers-103884/

I am not a fan of the stock Revolver wheels, but have you seen what a difference you can make with a little satin black paint carefully applied in the right places?

I like the look of the 16" wheels, but wonder how they would look on an XK8.

They look pretty similar to the factory fluted 18" Sport wheels that were available up to 2000 (they switched to the impeller style after that)

Here they are on my car:

Now I'm confused since my 2000 xk8 specifies 4.75 with 33 mm offset on 17in x 8 in.????

20mm is closer to the offset of the 20x10in wide wheel of later years. 33mm is the correct ET for an 8in wide wheel.

The problem you will have with the Chevy wheels is two fold: one they are usually a larger offset 45mm or so, so need a spacer and two, the center bore will not be correct for a Jaguar (74mm) so they will not fit on the hub.

It would be possible to change the bore size, as long as the offset is larger than 30mm, all you would need to do is have the spacers made to suit, only 1/2 of the hub sits past the rotor so it would be very doable not that much different to adapter spacers just with the same PCD

Default OEM wheel specs 199702006

I found this thread very useful, probably the most useful of any, in helping me size and locate factory wheels. I found that the 19" Atlas wheels would fit my 2000 XKR, but couldn't locate any. I ended up finding a set of Double-Five wheels. The car is at the shop right now, waiting to have them put on tomorrow morning.

after reviewing this list I went to detoitwheelandtire to compare specs like bolt pattern, offset and size.

You can make Range Rover wheels fit as the offset is quite large so a spacer will be required....... But I would not recommend anything too large like I am doing to my XJ a set of 22" Range Rover wheels
