Default '99 XK8 Conv. Wheel spacers

Happy New Year to you all; I would like to put wheel spacers on my car. I have seen 1", 11/4" & 2". What size would be best that would not affect the handling too much and give a nice look? Wheels are 17".
Thanks
Mitch

Wheel spacers of those widths are pretty hard on the wheel bearings and suspension.

If one was intent on spacing out the wheels more than 1/4”, then use wheel adaptors. They have a set of studs built into them vs the wheel spacers which are just a flat piece of aluminum.

But the adaptors are still no picnic for the wheel bearings. The Jaguar bearings are problematic enough already. You can read many topics here about people needing to replace them and what a pain it is to do so. Putting more strain on them is not a good idea in my opinion.

If you don't have any spacers yet, PM me, I have a set of H&R spacers sitting in my shed looking for a home. I think they were 1/2 or 3/4", nothing dramatic but you did notice the difference in the look of the car.

I also have a set of 1/2" H&R sitting on a shelf that I removed from the XKR I bought.
The fronts scraped the right outer wheel arch lip and bent the metal slightly at times on sharp right hand turns.

Going straight down the road had no issues.

I guess I could put some extra spring shims in one of my X308 sedans and fit the spacers?
