After ABS Control Unit fix question

After doing the ABS Control Unit removal, fix and re-install, do the brakes need to be bled?

One would think so but mine didn't.

I was careful not to pump the brakes with the lines open of course but after reassembly everything was fine - and has been for a year or more.
