XK8 & XKR 'HOW TO' / DIY Repair & Maintenance Links / Facts & Data

Not far down, I clicked here:

More Parts Files (kindly supplied by hlgeorge)
XK8 Parts, locations and identification fiches. (in pdf format)

XK8 Parts, File 1

That link is where I clicked.

I can certainly appreciate your visit there. I have no earthly idea how virus's work or why they exist.

What I do know is, I went there, clicked on the 'download', and it reared it's ugly head. Maybe it picks it's victims like a random generator picks any particular number, I don't know.

It got me and I thought i'd do the right thing and sound the clarion for others to at least be sober, alert & careful.

I'm glad you DID NOT experience it. I just figured it would be best to do what I did. My duty ends there!

Thanks for your reply sir,

frank

Frank,

I know the PDF is clean. I can send it to you as an email attachment if you want.

I moved it to the Forum Feedback & Suggestion section, as that sort of issue is serious and relates to the functioning of this forum.

If you had just clicked on the link where it says "moved" it would have taken you there....

Anyone viewing the XK8/XKR section can still see it....

Frank, thanks for your post on this, we do appreciate it.

I see Graham has already checked as others may have too, I'm not 100% sure, but if Graham says it's clean then I totally back him on this.

As an aside and for my own peace of mind I also downloaded it ( again ) and also had no issues with any viruses.

This has been checked and downloaded many times and this is the first instance we have been made aware of.

Thank you

Thanks! Bizarre & unexplained things do occur occasionally and i'll have to download it again for peace of mind. I've downloaded other pdf links on that same page many times, and never had a problem.

When it happened, I tried to cancel the download using the 'task manager' but not soon enough. Unfortunately, I've clicked on a download and instinctively realized my error...too late. Several kinds and they're all nasty!

Thank you for your quick attention, Jim!
