Default Alloy Wheels for 1998 Jaguar XK8

I am looking for information in addition to a source for a set of alloy wheels for my 1998 Jaguar XK8. I would like to replace the factory 17" rims with either 18" or 19" staggered wheels preferably OEM. I would like to know the following:

1. What model year wheels will fit the 1998 XK8? I am fairly sure that any 1997 - 1999 wheel will fit. Do any other years work as well?
2. Has anyone had any experience with http://www.finishlinewheels.com/?

I was considering using
Front (18"x8") 199.00 each
http://www.finishlinewheels.com/JAGU...98/A-59690U10/

Rear (18"x9") 235.00 each
http://www.finishlinewheels.com/JAGU...98/A-59691U10/

3. I also checked Detroit Wheel and Tire where I found a similar wheel for about twice the cost. Is there a difference between Detroit's rim and Finishline's?

Detroit Front (18"x8") 395 each
http://www.detroitwheelandtire.com/p...1998&model=890

Detroit Rear (18"x9") 395 each
http://www.detroitwheelandtire.com/p...1998&model=890

I am open to any advice, information, recommendations etc.

anything up to the 2006 models will work for your 98 xk, so you'll have plenty of options available. Here's a link to sizes.

Check out this link for all of the names and sizes used on the xk8s. I think 19s are perfect on these cars.

You can also look for XJ(XJR) wheels, earlier XJs had similar bolt patterns, in fact brutal installed XKr rims on his XJ, as an example. Not many worthy of the xk's style, but still...options.

I like these, personally, If I had to choose something other than the Apollos that are on there (which I think are the best), these were on the XK100 edition I think, very cool.

Brutal's choice...

Default Coventry Wheels

What about Coventry Wheels? Any experince dealing with them or their products.

The question I have is does the extra .5" wheel width change the size tire that would be needed?

Tire size would absolutely need to change as well to reflect the extra width, but the cost should be minor. you select the rims, and we'll let you know the correct tire that should accompany it.

Go to http://www.tirerack.com and look at the specs of the tires that you have. One of the columns will list the rim size that your tires will fit.

Any X100 rim will fit all hubs prior to the X150. Some models have wider rears, especially as the dia increases. New OEM rims, are a ransom so I would suggest searching, eBay, and see what turns up. Steer clear of 'cheap' new ones. Unfortunately, with big rims comes equally big tyres, which (assuming correctly rated) are not inexpensive. Rim size and style is very subjective and, to some, the extremes can be disappointing. My own Growler has OEM fit 20" Sepangs which are 10" at the rear and 9" at the front. These, I believe, are the largest one can fit without modifications. I fitted new tyres (OEM spec) last year at a cost of £1000! It's worth bearing in mind that insurance companies will be very interested in your final choice, if you have an accident! Jaguar use lug nuts unique to them, and Range Rover, so make sure any non OEM rim will cope.
