I have an XKR of 2000 with Alpine premium stereo. The headunit is with an Al-net connector to the CD Changer. My CD changer crashed and i came across an Alpine S620 NOS CD changer. Thing is that it has the M-bus connector. Can this made to be compliant to the Al-net connector? I have seen adapters when i googled this but these are not for sale anymore (alpine KCA-130B) and it has a male exit plug instead of the needed female M-bus plug. I also think that this adapter is for plugging in a Al-net plus into the M-bus head unit.
The seller is asking me if the Alpine S620 CD changer is compliant to the 2000 Alpine Al-net head unit so he can make a custom adapter with a female M-bus plug input and a female Al-net plug output. I already asked Jaguar Land Rover classic in the UK but i am afraid they can't come up with an answer.
Also, the seller has more of these M-bus alpine S620 CD changers (NOS) so if this can be made compliant it can be helpful of others of for someone with the pre 2000 head unit with M-bus connectors.I can guide everbody to the seller.

 

what is wrong with the cd changer - most of the time it is the nut holding a worm gear in place that comes loose - easy fix once you get through the pain of removing the changer

 

Don't think the Alpine S620 will provide the handshake to the headunit, so unlikely to work.
