Alternator multiplug
Just a quickie gents.
Tried to take the alternator off to clean it up, but the multiplug wouldn't come out.
Is there a clip release mechanism on it?
I couldn't see one.
Should i try to prise it out with a screwdriver?
Do they get rusted in or something?
i was yanking it as hard as i could with my left hand and trying to wiggle it to disconnect it, but try as i might it wouldn't budge. although it did wiggle side to side a (very) little bit.
So i undid the two retaining bolts, with the idea of turning the alternator end up for better purchase on the multiplug, but yanking on the alternator proved fruitless as well.
It too, would move from side to side, but still seemed to be attached by the lower pivot bolt, even though that bolt was removed.
Perhaps i'm supposed to lever the alternator out from it's resting place?
I hope those alternator bodies are strong.
