Default Amber check engine light

I had this car in the jaguar dealer in Bellevue the car dealership and they still can’t tell me why. My check engine light is coming on they had it for a week and still as soon I pick up the car a couple of days later it pop on then the obligatory restricted performance message pop on and off. At first they said it was the fuel regulator tell the computer the fuel mixture was too rich but that wasn’t it 2002 Jag XKR convertible anyone please ..........MTRUE11

Welcome to the forums Mtrue11,

I've moved your question from US Northeast Region to XK8/XKR forum. This is the place to post technical questions about your model.

As already suggested - ask the dealer for the CODES and post them here.

+1 we need the codes to be able to help. Just about any auto parts store in your area will read them for free. Get the numbers and post the for us to evaluate.

First issues is taking a 2002 to a dealership!....all they know how to work on are the last five year's production....ok...may be the last 10 year's production. A '02.....they have not a clue....as you found out.
Even if you are not of the "mechanically inclined" mindset, get yourself an OBD II scanner for your type of phone, download one of the OBD II scanner apps so you can pull codes. With a '02 you will be needing this.
