Amber Engine Light....
+1 on getting the codes read. A CEL should not be ignored. However, AutoZone will no longer clear codes. Some legal thing. Tried 3 separate ones and an O'Reilly's before I gave up and bought my own reader and cleared it myself.
The lite apparently does not clear itself after doing a driving cycle. I found my OBDI reader and cleared out the fault. I couldn't find my code sheet so I do not know what the code ment. I am pretty sure I caused the problem when I started the car and didn't let it start completely then hit the starter again to soon. Anyway the lite is off. I will keep an eye on it just in case.

FYI. The amber engine lite came back on while driving after I cleared it yesterday. I took the jag to the Jag dealer and found that the lite was caused by a bad oxygen sensor on number 1 bank. They replaced the sensor $226.00 plus 2 hours labor @$129.00. These sensors are in a very had to get at position. Our cars have 4 of these sensors according to the service advisor. I hope the other 3 keep working. The service advisor informed me that if you keep driving with a bad sensor it could take out the cat converter. Hopefully this information was helpful. While I was at the Jag dealers I took out one of the new F types for a test drive and was very impressed. Maybe next spring!!!!!
