Default Annual Inspection....

2006 XK8 Victory Edition Convertible....

The car passed its state-mandated annual inspection with flying colors this morning. One of the new young guys at the shop I always take our vehicles to for inspection commented that he had never seen one of these cars before ...

Because the car will officially be 20 years old next January 1st, this was the last time the emissions system will be part of the annual inspection. So starting today, I have no more concerns regarding whether or not all the readiness monitors are set....

Well done Jon.
I know it was not easy, things have been popping up over the years, requiring concern.
I was, like you, so glad when 20 years arrived.
Now for the DMV circus and in NC they don't take cards unless you pay 3% extra, even a Debit one. Not sure that's legal. LOL

Texas has discontinued annual safety inspections, but some counties (mine) still require emissions testing. My XK8 is 25+ years old so I am exempt from emissions testing.

Woohoo!

I envy you guys, here in the peoples republic of Illinois I need emission testing regardless of the age of the car. Ironically no safety inspections, they don't care if we kill ourselves driving a death trap as long as we do so without polluting!

You're right Wayne it is illegal for a business to charge when using a debit card. However, a processing company can. Thus if the business uses a third party processor they can charge a fee.

We are a free state in South Carolina no inspections period! Yea
