Another 'don't do what I did'
So I went to close the passenger window as I'd been tinkering a while back and left both sides part open. It wouldn't close from either switchpack. Both mirrors were misbehaving too.
Now, my immediate suggestion to anyone else would be 'try a hard reset'. Nope. Ah! thinks I, there must be something wrong with the driver switchpack. Out it comes and into pieces on the kitchen table. It looked as clean as new inside.
Three attempts before I got it back together correctly ('underwater' grease is really good for holding the little springs and pads in place).
On the way back to the car, I remembered I'd left the ignition on (tender unhooked) a few days ago. So I'd just reattached the tender and left everything to recover.
I refitted the switchpack in and then did a hard reset. All is well.
A 5 minute fix consumed an hour and a half. Moral of the story: always try a hard reset first - even if you know better... I do wonder sometimes if I should be allowed out unsupervised these days.

Well, Michael it made for a day filled with adventure and learning, that's the nice way to look at it.Live and learn my friend we're never too old or too smart to do something how do I say it? Less than smart? lol
I’ve given up counting the issues the forum members have had that were all cured by either a hard re-set or a battery tender. But these two strategies are now my first go-to problem solvers
