Default Anyone try an internal antenna

My mast broke so I started to think about converting to an internal unit. This is the only one I could find that people seem to like.

Anyone try this conversion?

I've never heard of anyone here trying one, but if it will sit somewhere inside the trunk and work comparably to a stock antenna I think it'll make a lot of people around here pretty happy!

I did the antenna cutout switch retrofit and find that I can get most of the stations intown with the antenna down.

I live in the country with weak signals. I'd love to see if the internal antenna works. Sorry I don't have any advice but to try it and let us know

I used a satellite antenna on the dashboard with no problems, but obviously you refer to regular FM stations. With my antenna retracted, I get very few stations (kind of in the country right now). I would think any antenna would work besides the old fashioned power units that Jaguar seems to love so much, but would be nice to get some first hand reports on this.

It's been a while, but I know I've seen antenna "tape" somewhere. It sticks just like tape but it has a lead coming out of it that you attach to the antenna connector. I have one of the wind deflectors, and I would think that the antenna tape would work perfectly across the top of the wind deflector. Or, perhaps across the top of the windshield on the inside with the lead running down the inside of the A-pillar.

I remembered where I saw it. I was building a plane a while back and an aircraft supply place carried it. Here it is:

Hey Sam
That looks like slot car tape. When I was a kid we built a wood track and laid down two copper tape on each side of the routed slot, to make contact.
