Default Auto window does not rise when shutting the doorsdoor

I apologize for not posting that often but last night while going out to dinner my Jag decided to play a new trick on me. When opening the doors the windows auto roll down a 1/4 inch or so, however when shutting the door they do not go back up. If standing outside the car you can repeat the exercise several times and eventually the window will be rolled all the way down.

I did a search and found a thread about door latch problems being the possible culprit. To trouble shoot I have removed the negative on the battery over night and there was no change in the problem after reconnecting. I also turned the car on and opened the driver door and it did indicate on the display that the driver door was open. Any ideas?

Go for the simplest thing first and reset the window travel limits.

Sitting in the car with the ignition ON

1. lower driver's window completely and hold the switch until you hear a soft click
2. raise it completely and hold again until you hear another soft click
3. repeat for passenger side

If this cures it, the most likely cause is a slightly discharged or dying battery.

If not, move on to investigating the door latch.

Nice looking car.

You're the man! That fixed the problem! Love this car but she does like to play games!

If it happens again soon, your battery is probably on the way out (unless the car had not been driven for a long time.)
