Default Battery disconnect

To remove the power seat module off a 2001 XK8 , do you disconnect the battery ? If so is there a reconnect procedure.
Thanks

The battery should be disconnected anytime any of the modules are disconnected/connected. Not that it is guaranteed death not to but better safe than sorry.

May I assume that the picture was not taken today?

The photo was taken late November on initial inspection. The car is hibernating in my garage. It was originally bought new in Toronto but lived in Florida until 2010.

There's a few settings will be lost when you do a battery disconnect. See this thread in the FAQ's for details:

Nothing difficult but the window drop throws a lot owners the first time they come across it.
