mea culpa - my 2000 XK8 has been idle for 9 months.
i tried various methods of reviving the Interstate cell
to no avail. dash indicator shows "restricted performance".

i bear the full responsibility for negligence, but my love
for this wonderful motorcar beckons for the open road.

any recommendations from this board of remarkable
better minds and resource is greatly appreciated!

 

Am I missing something. Replace the battery

 

Buy a new battery ........ and a battery tender. CTEK is the preferred option of many here including me.

that was my second notion - #1 was check here before pulling the battery. i purchased the car a year ago, and the cell looks new. (haven't taken off the bracket to check the date yet) all the dash components are well lit, windows function, etc. so i thought i might be overlooking a necessary reset.

it was so dead it wouldn't respond until i went through the protocols to bring it back up to accept a trickle charge. i'll check it today, i was hoping i wouldn't have to take out the credit card...
