Been sitting about a year and...P0171 P0174
The following steps cleared and reset all monitors in my wife's 2006 XK8 two different times in late December 2020:
1. Fuel level in the tank must be between 30% and 85%.
2. Start engine from cold and allow it to idle for more than 12 minutes and 45 seconds.
3. Put the transmission in Drive and maintain a road speed between 8 mph and 80 mph for approximately 50 seconds.
4. Coast to a stop and allow the engine to idle for at least 66 seconds.
Let us know if that worked for you....

It usually isn't, but if something is marginal or failing...
(Or one or two other things e.g. there's a code such as P0171 or the fuel tank is too empty/full for the evap monitor.)

So not sure what the issue is/was.....However after taking my custom intake tube and MAF off of my other xkr and onto this one after about 4 days and hundreds of miles my components monitor set and I got it inspected. As of now, the catalyst still hasn't set. The original intake tube looks like new with no cracks. Wondering if maybe the MAF is problematic or the breather tube. No real explanation here. I never liked the
way the intake tubes ft on the TB
