Here a excerpt from a 2000 drivers manual, I'm sure some options such as global opening can be set, would need to check bobs charts.

 

The one touch up feature doesn't show up in SDD under the convenience features, at least not for my 2003 model.

Anyone know what "Drivers remote door glass close" does?

 

I'm sure that it is 'one-touch' DOWN that is a feature listed.
That should already be set for your car.

The UP feature is not available for the early X100/X308 cars (or the early S-Types).

I can go over the list of features when the car is connected to WDS for 'enabling/disabling' functions.

Hey Bob, I do have the one touch down working on my car but the pdf that you attached to your earlier post, states Driver's (and passenger) door glass one touch up enable. There is an X in the X100 column. You can check on this whether this feature is available when I bring you my car. Thanks,

Thanks guys. I appreciate all the input. But, my 2000 XK8 no chiro or flask lights. Is this only activated by the computer.

 

Can anyone advise me if it is possible to setup, the remote unlocking so that pressing the unlock button once will unlock both doors ?

My question would be does the alarm still work. Lock car window open, reach inside to open door.
My alarm is set every time I lock the car. Do not see how to change that on my 99 XK8. I would think newer versions might have an access to this feature.


It has been noted here many Jag owners feel the battery dies out while at rest for an extended period of time. Previous owner may have had the alarm disconnected . Rich

Q: Does alarm work?

test: Turn on alarm/lock. pull on passenger door handle to open (activates my alarm); Reach in open window, open door. Either of these would set off my alarm.

You probably have SEQUENTIAL UNLOCKING. You can disable that feature with a proper diagnostic computer.

I just enabled sequential unlocking on a X202 a few weeks ago. The customer only wanted the driver's door unlocked with the first press UNLOCK.
There is a list of features for a number of the cars somewhere on the forum.

Well I have tried unlocking the passenger door using the interior handle with the car being locked and the passenger window open.
The Alarm sounded the lights flashed !!

So to stop the alarm I depressed the unlock button on the remote, and the roof opened. So the remote roof function operated in another mode.

So the next as I had use of a Mongoose scanning tool, I opened the dealer options
and tried a few of the drivers door options,

And Now have the car bleeping once when locked, twice when unlocking - both doors unlock with one press of the remote.

All other functions seam to be working fine so success.

After boosting the battery and starting it up for the first time after winter storage, my XK8 makes one loud grating BEEP when I hit the lock button, and no beep when I hit the unlock.

Previously it made the 1 or 2 little squeaks/chirps as described here... is that an expected result after a weak battery? I stored it the previous winter and the chirps were the same before/after....
