My XK8 is the 4.2s from 2005 which I have owned for over 10 years. During the covid lockdown I set too detailing the car and found to my surprise that the aft end of the off side front wing ( where it meets the door pillar) is open to the elements. The nearside (UK) front wing is sealed off with a foam rubber insert. Why I have never noticed this before is another matter but my question is, should there be a similar foam rubber insert in the offside wing? The part is not shown for either wing on the jaguar parts schedules and my trusty jaguar garage cannot find it either.
Can I ask any owner of an XK8 to have a look to see if both of the wings on their cars are blocked off and if any one knows of where this part can be purchased, I would be much obliged.
There's nothing like that on either side on my '98, although it may have been introduced later in production?
TBH, given foam's ability to create a dirt & moisture trap, I'd be tempted to remove the one you have found:- I can't see any obvious value it would add.
