Bosch Intercooler pump hose question

Bosch Intercooler pump hose question
Hi
I have recently fitted a Bosch intercooler pump. All working fine but I have some concerns.
When attaching the hoses I found that the spring hose clips did not give a tight fit to the smooth section of the pump outlets (original pump had 20.2mm corrugations and 21mm flange. See this thread post #4 for pump pictures https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...eat-fix-75561/).
So I repositioned the clips to clamp over the wider flange part of the outlets. See drawing
My concerns are:
Is this connection going to be secure or could the pipe slip/pop off under coolant pressure?
Also with the clamp in this position, although the clamp pressure does not seem too excessive, is it possible the flange could eventually cut through the rubber at this point?
Would I be safest to fit a Jubille clip? Or is all going to be OK?
How did other people that have fitted this pump proceed?

Jubilee clip. You need to get the clamp onto the narrow part of the neck.
The type made for fuel hose or the wire type clamps are better because they apply clamping pressure 360 degrees.
Umm... did you move the pipe assembly from the old pump to the new pump? That way you get to keep the connections as they were.

As I changed makes from the oem Hella to Bosch I thought it best to use all the new parts.

I know---it was the bloody invention of a Royal Navy Commander by the name of Lumley Robinson---hum---sounds suspicious. I do know of some royal navy seaman jokes??? But I'm getting off topic. I did use the original pump clamp minus the rubber insulating mount. I couldn't get the pump to fit with the rubber layer. I haven't noticed any increase in vibration noise in the engine compartment.

With the pump position I don't see noise as a problem, though I did wonder if the rubber was to protect the pump?
When I went for a test drive after fitting the new pump I thought something had gone wrong. When warmed up and applying power, from about 20mph, several times I felt and heard this rumble/vibration that I wasn't used to, so I quickly turned off the music and opened the window to check.
That's when I realised it was the full power of the engine being released, through the exhaust etc, now it is no longer under performing due to hot induction. Excellent!!! Full power restored.
