Default Brake pad ?

Went to order brake pads and rotors for the rear and the asked me if I had small clips or large.

So without take the calipers off, is there an easy way to tell?

That's a strange question to ask you. The obvious question is 'Standard or R Performance (Brembo)' brakes. I'm also wondering exactly what he means by 'clips'........

This is the Standard Brake:

The Anti Rattle Spring (item 7) is listed in the Parts Catalogue as a Housing Clip but a.f.a.i.k. there is only one size.

The Brembo pads are held on Pins (item 6):

These are secured by Clips (item 1):

There could be two different sizes of these Clips available.

Graham,
When I looked at Rockauto.com, some pads said small clip, one said large and the rest did not mention the clip, so I do not know why they asked.

I put on Rock Auto pads just 30 days ago for my '01 XK8. You want the standard pads, NOT the ones that say "with performance kit". I ordered that set thinking it included all the hardware, but it is the set for the Brembo brakes. Unless you have upgraded brakes on your XK8, you'll need the set without the performance kit.

The pictures actually show which ones you want very well.

Jaguar still persist with the confusing 'R Performance' badging. The rear caliper on mine has this logo:

Not a mention of 'Brembo' in the sales brochure either. Despite the fact everyone calls them 'Brembo'!
