Brembo upgrade on 2001 XKR Coupe
Hello All, new forum member here.
I have a question and problem that maybe some expierenced Jag owners or mechanics can help with.
I am converting the standard brake package on my 2001 XKR to a Jag Brembo R-package with front spindles, new calipers and rotors.
I have completed the rear package, easy just some dust shield trimming and flexible brake line changeouts.
On the front its a more complicated issue. the new spindle assemblies allow the rotors to mount no problem, however my XKR has the 18" wheels, not sure of wheel model name, and the calipers mounted clear the inside of the wheels no problem (diameter), however the wheels will not fit on the hubs without the calipers hitting the back of the wheel spoke area, so obviously the wheel is not scalloped enough to clear the new calipers.
I really like my stock wheels and their look and I need to ask whether using some 1/2" thick wheel spacers and longer wheel studs is the fix.
My concern is that I have been told by some that widening the front track by an 1" may lead to tire wear (scrubbing) and turning issues since the centerline of the kingpins is no longer in line with the centerline of the tire on the ground.
My only other real option is to change out all the wheels and tires to make the clearances needed in the front.
Any input or expierence here would be really appreciated.
Best Regards,
JagRAY

I had the same issue when I upgraded to Brembos on my XJR. I used 20 mm spacers to clear my stock wheels. All you probably need is 20mm per side. There is no issues with turning or handling. Of course the perfect scenerio would be to have wheels that fit fine without spacer but the spacers shouldn't have a negative affect.
You don't use longer studs with these spacers. The spacer bolts on to the hub with the included nuts and then you bolt the wheel onto studs that are fixed into the spacer with your lug nuts.
If you want to go this route, I have two pairs of H&R 20mm spacers for sale. One pair is brand new and unused and the other pair has under 1000 miles on them. They clear the front Brembos by at least 3/8 inch and give the car a perfect stance. I could sell them for $300 shipped.
Here's how they look like to give you an idea how they mount:
