Default Can't Get Out Of Park

01 XK- dash shows "electrical fault" and suspension fault". Car starts but shifter won't budge out of "Park". Tried hard reset, didn't help. Mechanic says module shows no error codes.

WTF? Hoping someone can help...

Check your battery voltage, if it is too low, these cars can behave pretty weird.

Can you hear the Gearshift Interlock click when the brake is pressed? If not, release it manually as follows (see the section I've boxed in red):

Fuse No 7, 15A in the Driver's Side Fuse Box protects the supply to the Interlock Solenoid. Its failure could cause part of your problem. Other contributors to the solenoid not operating include the brake pedal switch and the Not-in-Park microswitch in the J Gate.

Thanks for the suggestions! Gonna have to try them and keep fingers crossed. Forgot to mention that I did put brand new battery in hoping it would help. Then did hard reset.

Looks like it could be a few different things. Open to more ideas and will keep you posted.

ROFL@horsewives

If you get stuck I'd be happy to assist- I am in Costa Mesa.

BTW, we have a club that meets every second Saturday in Costa Mesa around 9:30 after Cars and Coffee (also C&C British car day)

Found 2 blown fuses. Replaced 10a- that resolved the fault messages. Replaced 15a- that resolved the shift issue. And here my mechanic told me to have it towed to the Jag dealer for ECM replacement!

In the pic below, it was the 5th fuse down on the left (10a) and the 6th fuse down on the right (15a). Thanks again for the help!

Thanks for the offer of help. I've heard the Jags are prone to electrical issues but the fuse replacement seems to have fixed it. It does other weird stuff like driver's window lowering upon door opening and not going back up automatically.

Let me know where the meet up is, I'd like to cruise by and check it out. Thx!

You need to work out why the fuses blew.

Window behaviour is because the limit switches need to be reset after a battery disconnect or hard reset. Lower the driver's window and hold the button until you hear a soft click then raise it fully and hold on the button until you hear another soft click. Repeat same procedure for passenger window.
