Default Car monitoring software

Is there any car monitoring software out there for 01 xk8?

Car is running rich and I do not have any codes, I so would like to do some data monitoring, figure it is the maf or o2's, but want to be sure.

I've heard Auto Enginuity is the preferred software for those who want to get pretty deep into monitoring and diagnostics. A few of our forum guys have it, and it looks pretty slick.

If you have an Android phone you can buy a $50 ELM 327 scanner and connect it to your phone through Bluetooth, then run a program called Torque ($5). It's very slick. It shows all of your general engine and emissions related data in real time. It doesn't have the Jaguar specific codes, such as transmission temp and some others, but it's still a great app.

How do you know it is running rich?

It could also be a fault in the temperature sensors!

I have Auto Enginuity its definetely the best computer based software i have found so far for Jags, provided that you buy the Jaguar Enhanced pack. It can look very deeply into the diagnostic systems of the vehicle and provide the Jaguar specific codes that generic readers are unable to read.

I, too, have the Autoenginuity with Jaguar module. Just got it last month. It is great, it can tell you just about everything you need to know about your Jaguar. You can run general tests of all sensors (not just OBDII basic codes) as well as every sensor you can imagine. I also like the live data logging, you can plug it in, go for a drive, and track all kinds of user defined data in a log for review later. Its not cheap, but in one use, I have already saved myself the $$ I paid for this tool. Second best tool I have in the garage, second to a wrench!

It was pretty easy, exhaust smells like gas and I am getting about 15mpg on the highway. Smell is there when I first start the car and when warm, which makes me think the MAF is bad or it is on the last setting stored in the ECM, which makes me think O2.

There's only one place to get it...the Android marketplace, accessed through your phone. And as Sam says, it does give live readings from a number of sensors...including short and long-term fuel trims and voltage levels from the O2 sensors. And yep, you can clear a CEL.

Here's the website (for information only, not purchase)...not terribly helpful...but here it is: www.torque-bhp.com
