CAT monitor won't set and a transient P0172
I've been driving around a lot, connecting a little OBD Readiness scanner and all monitors except CAT are set. Before, the EVAP and the component computer wouldn't set. Now it's the CAT.
This afternoon, after a long drive in heavy traffic I connected the scanner when I arrived home and saw a P0172 code, Bank 1 too rich. I drove to the shop after about 30 minutes and put a regular scanner on it and there are no codes. I guess the P0172 went away by itself. The CAT still isn't set.
I drove around monitoring the STFT and LTFT numbers. I'm not sure what to make of them, but I know somebody here does.
The Bank1 1 STFT bounces around a lot. Far more than Bank 2 STFT. It's a negative number most of the time. At idle it tends to be around -3.1, and LTFT tends to be around 3.1. Bank 2 STFT/LTFT at idle are usually opposite.. At part throttle acceleration Bank 1 STFT drops down to -12.7, while Bank 2 is around 7.0 positive. This is pretty consistent.
It seems to these inexperienced eyes that bank 1 is running rich. Bank 2 looks reasonably normal. Is that correct so far?
So, what can the causes of one bank being rich be? A faulty injector suddenly appeared? A bad upstream O2 sensor? Anything else?
As always, much obliged for everybody's insight. Except for the too-high seating, this car's been a real pleasure to drive. But the constant bugs are making what little hair I have left fall out.

Lambda Sensor
I am so over this car.
For my birthday I scheduled three nights in a nice place in the Valle de Guadalupe in Baja. It's about 200 miles each way. We zipped down without a hiccup. So nice to drop the top and zip along the coastal road. Very enjoyable.
The car behaved magnificently for the first two days. Then, while heading to a winery, the CEL came on. I had brought my reader for such an eventuality. The good news was that the CAT monitor had set up and, for the first time since I owned the car I got the P1111 code. Yaay. But, it also showed the RH bank too rich code P0172, and the EVAP system small leak P0442 code. Arrgh. I cleared them and off we went.
On the last day we loaded up the car and took off. Just as we were pulling onto the main road the trans slipped a bit as it shifted into 1st. At the next stop sign it did the rev up and SLAM into gear bit. It then went several miles just fine until another stop. Then same thing only worse, and the Transmission Fault message appeared. Dammit. Scanned for codes and got a P1722 Stall Speed error.
Long story short, I made it back home in fail safe mode. It's now parked up at the shop. I am contemplating pushing it off of a cliff, except there are no cliffs around here.
I'll start another thread on this code and probably transmission rebuild/replace.
