Centre console switch pack

Centre console switch pack
Hi all,
I have new head scratching issue on my 97 XK8. A few weeks ago I noticed the centre console switches were not working (accept for the hazard lights) so that is headlight level, front and rear fogs, and traction control. First I checked that it was plugged in OK as I installed a new stereo a months ago, but it was connected correctly. Next I picked up a second hand switchpack on ebay (advertised as working), plugged that in but still the same issue. So I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this issue?? As I am unsure if both switchpacks are faulty, or if there is another problem some where else?
N.B. I also I tried disconnecting the battery, knowing that it fixes some issues on these cars, changed nothing with the centre console switches. But when I 'set' the window positions the (driver's side) window controls swapped over, so the RH switch operated passenger side and vice versa (it is a RHD car). I drove the car later and the windows operated correctly. Now am I losing my mind....

Andy *** had a similar issue caused by the security sounder popping fuse #3 in the Engine Compartment Fuse Box.

Possibly siren: = active security sounder?
I have my fine example of planned obsolescence dismantled in a "bag o' bits" awaiting attention. This dratted thing should have its own separate 1A fuse as it would avoid the above and it might just not destroy itself so much once self-digestion has started
You might find the cabin warmer now as IIRC that fuse also supplies the heater pump
