This great ad is an answer to a Mercedes ad. Watching the Merc first makes the Jag ad even more funny.

I had not seen the Merc ad; you're right, it makes the Jag ad even more funny. This is really great advertising. I wish Ford had advertised Jag like this when they owned Jag. Then maybe they'd have made a profit. I'll give it to Tata, they have done a lot of good for the Jaguar brand. That said, I still prefer the x100 style XK8/R to the x150 style.

showed the Jag ad to one of my many sisters in law; She's been a Merc driver for more than 50 years....

She did not get it!

 

Many of the Jaguar ads have been pretty inspiring, starting with the one a few years ago introducing the XF. I guess that started with Tata.
