2002 XK8. After driving about 10 miles today check engine came on. Misfires on cylinders 7 & 8. Going to do the old switch the coils test. I've seen the diagrams of cylinder numbering for pre 2002.5 and post 2002.5. Asumming a post 2002.5 mean a 4.2 engine first appearing in 2003 models and mine follows the pre 2002.5 numbering. Correct?

 

If you have the 4.0 engine, the cylinders are numbered the way Ford did them. The right side bank is numbered 1-4, front to back. The left side bank is 5-8, front to back.
