Hi everyone-
I have an '03 XK8 convert. I saw a thread last year about steady (no change with rpm) ticking noises coming from the left fender cowl behind the front wheel well. It sounds like a solenoid clacking. It comes for a few minutes and then goes away, quite intermittently. It was very cold in St. Louis yesterday and it was louder than usual, it seemed. Any observations? Thanks.

There is a TSB (303-62) that seems close to your description. Title is "Ticking Noise from left side footwell-EVAP Canister Purge Valve"
Model range 2003-05 MY XK Range VIN A30645-A40920

I have changed my Purge Valve last week "after I can say" a long story about a gearbox fault (too long to explain here).

Changing this valve is very easy and well described in the TSB. The cost is about 80€ for the valve.
