Contemplating Selling My XKR And Buying A F-Type 2-3 Years From Now
I have been in the XKR for over the past 12 years. Im considering selling it because I can actually get more now for what I originally paid for it. Ever since the F-Type has came out I been wanting one for the longest time. Granted used car prices are at a all time high but I and strongly considering selling the XKR now and wait 2-3 years later and pick up an F-Type which I always wanted. The XKR is one of my favorite cars of all time but I been in one for over a decade and want to switch it up. Another part of me is telling me to keep the XKR because the values will go even higher than what they are now. But when looking at the XJS values they stayed consistent through the years there's been slight increases of 10-20% more but that's about it.
I understand that. However driving these cars are a hobby and if I am able to buy used cars and drive it for a few years and sell if for a profit or break even its a win.
If you are wanting an F type don’t wait two or three years. Get it now and be enjoying it now.
Two or three years from now either the F types or you might be gone.
as Frank Sinatra once said, “…you only go around once in life, and if you do it right , once is enough….”
Trying to schedule your F type fun years from now is like getting aces & eights. Good cards, if you are around to enjoy them.

I have had my XK8 for about 5 yrs. I first bought it as a backup to the 2017 F-Type I purchased on '17. I wanted a 'beater' car I could take to the grocery store and mall and not worry about door dings as I would with the F-Type. Now, after putting more $$ into it than I should, I have a really classy(and expensive) XK8.
I sold the '17 F-Type to buy a Corvette C8, changed my mind and bought a Nash Metro convertible(o.k., BAD decision). Sold the Nash, and now have a 2020 F-Type. Still using the XK as a backup, but trying to enjoy both Jags to the fullest. Current plans are to continue with these cars and let my kids argue over who gets to drive them to my memorial service.

The F-Types will for sure I am trying to purchase one below 20k with average mileage of 50k-70k hopefully the 14-15's will be around that pricing within the next 2-3 years.
