I just bought a 1999 XK8 Convertible. The power roof is closed but will not open. When the switch is pressed the side windows roll down but then nothing else happens.

The 40 amp fuse in the trunk is good and the fluid level is between the lines on the pump.

Any ideas? I am guessing there is a switch somewhere not being made.

 

Jaguar issued several TSBs a few decades ago.

You find and read all of them but here is one in particular.

 

I forgot to mention that the speedometer also does not work. I am not sure if the logic uses any info from the spedometer.

 

Thank you, in the logic it mentions instrument sending wrong speed. The speedometer does not work so I bet the if I replace the Vehicle speed sensor (assuming thats the problem) the top will work,
