Default Cruise Control Unavilable

My '06 XKR suddenly started randomly throwing up this message, but NO CEL!
No pattern or discernable source. My Indy asked..."Have you tried using your Cruise to see if it is, in fact, unavailable???
Duh! NEVER using Cruise before, I tried it...And Eddy Likes It!!! So far...no more irritating messages and Cruise actually
works well, and is...you know...convenient...even for Geezers like me! (If message appears again, I will update this post.)

could be related to the brake light switch. usually you get a cruise control and brake light switch message at the same time

There are two micro switches in the brake light switch, one for cruise control and the other for brake lights. So it's possible to lose one and not the other. Or, the sensors at the wheels could need cleaning, or one of the cables connecting the sensors (usually front) could be breaking internally.

Try cleaning the wheel reluctors (sensor wheels) first. They won’t cost anything but your time to try.

You may have codes - in the ABS/DSC module. Not an OBD module (but is available via its connector) so needs a suitable tool to read its codes.
