hey, not to shabby, I'd stick with that dealer. They certainly know how to fix a screwup and go a little above that.

 

I just brought my 2000 xk8 from Florida to Kitchener Ontario. It was a painless, pleasant experience. I paid the duty and filled out the forms at the port of entry, took about 30 minutes.
My local dealer got me a recall letter from Jaguar Canada, no charge. He also turned on the DTR for $ 79.00, which is a minimum charge to hook up the computer.
I then drove to Canadian tire and they completed the RIV inspection and faxed the comleted document to RIV and I got an email several days later with my approval, no charge from CTC.
Just wanted to share my experience.

In NS going price at Jag Dealer is $40 - at least on my 97 XKR - it is a simple matter of the dealer connecting to the computer and hitting a button

The federal law says all cars of buit or imported after Jan 1 1990 must have DRLs. In Nova Scotia, all cars built/imported prior to Jan 1 1990 must have DRLs or drive with lights on. This law was brought into effect in 2011

I bought an 08 XK convertible from Florida. No problems at the border. Local jag dealer turned on DRLs for $63 incl tax. I would suggest getting DRLs turned on at US dealership. Got certification at Cdn Tire. Easy.

BTW, what were you looking to pay for an XK? Mine will likely be for sale this fall (50,000 miles, nearly-new brakes and tires).
