Default Differential drain plug

I want to thank the many forum members who posted their experiences with removing and reinstalling the diff fill plug. I now know what a wobble extension is. Mission accomplished. Ninety eight convertible has a body brace across the fill plug. Ninety seven k miles, no debris on plug. Removed 1.9 liters. No evidence of leakage. All is good. I used Lucas synthetic 75w90.

NOTE: if the car is driven hard, even infrequently, then it can be beneficial to use a 75w-140. Mobil1 75w-140 is a good one.

......just sayin'

Just curious , did you use the cutting the hole in the trunk sheet metal method to get access to the fill plug?

Default Cut hole

I did cut a 2" hole. I tried from underneath. Just wasn't happening. I'll primer, paint, and plug the hole. The wobbly extension worked great getting it out. Reinstalling, it would be wise to have a second set of hands, to avoid cross threading. I finally used the wobbly to reinstall. Just no way I could get it in otherwise.
