Recently purchased a 2000 xk8 and I noticed that the switches on the steering wheel (cruise control settings and radio controls) do not light up at night. Is this normal? If not, any ideas as to what the problem may be?

Yes, they are some of the few switches that do not illuminate. The convertible roof switch is another. I can't remember offhand, but I want to say the Valet button is another.

I'm sure you don't want a power source running through the cancellation module to illuminate the switches. The airbag should be the ONLY thing to get power to it!!!!
