Shop on-line at a Ford or Lincoln dealer for the Lincoln LS or Ford Thunderbird V8 tensioners '00 to '02 MY's. Should be about $120 shipped for the pair plus the 4 shorter bolts. FelPro gasket set for the same cars is under $40 at RockAuto but I didn't replace my cover gaskets and haven't had any oil leaks.

many dealers will price match, take print outs of the parts websites with you when you get a quote

Did a search using Ford part numbers provided in post# 4 by forum member WhiteXKR and found Ford Parts Giant website selling both of the timing chain tensioners (rh & lh) plus the 4 shorter bolts for $122.04 plus shipping ($16 or $17??) total $139.

weblink to their webpage on one of the tensioners:
http://www.fordpartsgiant.com/parts/...-6k254-ba.html

Here is a JPEG file of the ford parts in the Ford Parts Giant shopping cart (click on the image to get a larger view):

does anyone know the cheapest place to buy the upper tensioners?-ford-secondary-tensioners-prices.jpg

Total cost is not much different than this Ebay listing for Jaguar branded parts:

Jaguar part numbers - upper secondary LH timing chain tensioner part# is C2A1512, the RH part# is C2A1511, new shorter bolts (need 4 of them) part# is JFB10607E

Ebayer Christophers Foreign Parts
RH and LH both with shorter bolts $149.95 free shipping:

Jaguar V8 1997 2010 2 Upper Secondary Timing Chain Tensioners | eBay

Look at bottom of the webpage - THIS SET COMES WITH THE 4 SHORTER MOUNTING BOLTS REQUIRED FOR ONSTALLATION

Also SNG Barratt (sngbarratt.com) now has both tensioners on sale until March 3, 2014 LH B bank part# C2A1512# $60.91 and RH A bank part# C2A1511# $62.45 - Total $123.36.
take another 10% off if you mention that you are a Jaguar Forum member (brings total down to $111.04 plus shipping) - does not mention the 4 shorter bolts (part# JFB10607E) needed to install the new metal tensioners.

U guys r lucky! I went to the ford dealer for my 2000 Ls8, last year around the same time! I paid 316.00 for one tensioner, no bolts, no new chain, no gaskets! Just a peice of plastic! Was not impressed, keep in mind Iam Canadian, our ford dealers r clearly not cheap! I have to do them again now on my xj8! I refuse dealer for that purpose! I'll be ordering online! eBay? Or rock auto or somewhere with trusted/fast shipping! I need quality, at good cost!

I agree Canadian Ford dealers charge a premium for parts and the US dealers I contacted will not ship here. My next project this winter is the tensioners and I will be getting them from our friends at SNG Barratt. They are a forum sponsor and will give you a discount for being a forum member. I have ordered a few parts from them already and they were excellent with price and service. I have them ship to my US address to save a few dollars on shipping and import duties.

I live on the boarder so I ship it to a UPS depot, buy it out of an adjoining state so no taxes paid, and bring back the parts along with a tank full of gas and a jug of milk

Ebayer Christopher's Foreign Parts ships internationally, his shipping to Canada is $12.74 and estimated Custom fee is $35.69 (both tensioners with bolts $149.00) Totals $184.69.

We purchased all our parts (upper & lower - timing chains, timings chains, tensioners, guides, gaskets, seals and water pump, plus the rental of the alignment tools from Christopher's Foreign Parts in New Jersey in June 2010.

The Upper & Lower kit (included all the chains, tensioners, guides, bolts, gaskets, seals, etc) $649.00.

Rental of tools was $75, Tools return shipping was $40 and Water Pump was $75.

Shop book time is 12.5 hours for complete job (upper and lower).

Ford Parts Giant.com only ships within US.

Rock Auto Parts.com does not sell the tensioners.
