Default Door panel removal

I've searched the threads but i'm dumb so i need step-by-step instructions to remove driver side door card on 2004 XKR convertible. Apparently, instructions are found in GTR Workshop Manual, section: 501-05, but i can't find that either. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I found instructions in the forum for an S-type. It didn't come up on the forum search, but it came up on google!

HiCat, a couple of points that may or may not be in the video. Hope they help:

1) Removing the screw cover under the door handle. I had to use more of a twisting/prying motion than an a lever motion to get it out. I tell you because this thing was harder than it looks, especially if you don't want to scratch anything.

2) There is a black screw that is not on any jaguar diagrams. This is located under the brass screw that secures the window up/down swtich pack. It is a phillps head. since it is not on any official jaguar diagrams wanted to tell you.

3) You do not need to take the speaker cover off. It attaches to the door pannel and can be removed with it.

4) The speaker bracket has "TOP" engraved in it.

5) Take a permanent magic marker and write "TOP" on the top of the silver bracket that holds the arm rest bolt. This will help you put it back properly. If you are like me, you'll never remmber which way this one goes back on after removed and a few hours of work.

6) Once all 4 screws are out, and you are ready to remove teh door pannel, start at the lower left vertical edge. Then pry the upper left, Lower right upper right. I found this sequence in a Jag manual - it helps move things along easiest.

7) When you unlatch the door pannel light plug on lower back corner, be real careful - that U shaped latch wants to launch itself.

FYI, if you break any of the serrated plastic trim attachment things on the back of the pannel, they are available at Jaguar for (ready for this?): a reasonable price. Just a few $$ for these.

8) When you re-install the pannel, watch the interleaving of the rubber strip along the top with the rubber strip next to the super tweeter. No big deal, but if you don't watch for it there is a 50/50 chance you will put it in on the wrong side. Like I said this is a small thing, but learn from my mistakes mate.

9) the brass bolts that secure the speaker are of unequal lenght. Make note of where the long ones go before you loose track. As I recall the shorter ones are interchangable with the bolts that hold the arm rest bracket you just wrote "Top" on.

Hope this helps. John

You should have sufficient information now on the door panel removal but for completeness here is the relevant JTIS section:

JTIS - XK8 Door Trim Panel.pdf

Although the term 'door card' is in regular use, the Workshop manual uses 'door trim panel' which may explain why you had difficulty finding the information.
