Default Driver’s window won’t return into roof XK8 Convertible

The windows are supposed to drop down when opening the doors. However the driver’s window drops but doesn’t return. Then on each subsequent opening of the door, it keeps dropping down. I tried a YouTube suggestion of holding the button up till hearing a small click, but that hasn’t helped. Any suggestions?

Welcome to the forums Purrdee,

You have a partially discharged or failing battery.

I've moved your question from General Tech Help to XK8/XKR forum. This is the place to post technical questions about your model.

Try holding down the window rocker switch in the down position (to lower, not raise the window) until you hear the faint click at end of the down window travel. Then, hold down the window rocker switch in the up position until you hear the faint click at end of the raised window travel. This is the normal reset procedure.

If no luck with the above, you might be looking at a bad micro switch in the door handle. Not a bad job, Jon89 has a good writeup on when we did his.
The hardest part was getting the new switch bend right to hit the cam at the right time.
Good luck, and let us know after checking the battery.
