Default Driver door problems

I have a 99 XK8 that I bought with a bad A drum. I repair the a drum now I'm going through the car and fixing all the other little bugs. When I first drove the car drivers door window was working. It stopped working after a while and I hear a clicking in the door towards the front also when I lock the car from the outside it does not lock the passenger door and I hear the same clicking at the same spot at the front of the door. Before I start trying to door my own trial and error I would like to ask your help of what the problem might be. I also have a donor car with the exact same color and interior codes if need be I can take Parts off of it or possibly change the whole door if that is the best way to go. Thanks

Since my origional post I found that the clicking is coming from the door module. I replaced it with the one from my donor car. I still got the same clicking sound. I then took the window motor from the donor car and plug it into the window plug without installing it. Still get the clicing sound from the module. It seems strange that both modules would have the same problem. If anybody have any ideas it would be appreciated.

So when you're trying to lock the vehicle, the passenger door doesn't lock? Are you doing this with the remote or the key in the door? Does global open and global close work using the key?

When I got the car it only came with 1 key and no remote. I programmed a remote from one of my xj8's. I got the headlights and the trunk to work but not the lock and unlock functions. The top and the quarter windows work with the global function but not the driver and passenger windows or the door locking. The passenger window does work from the driver and the passenger doors.

Thought I would check the battery voltage. I got 12.3 volts. I have read on forum that these cars like 12.6 volts. I replaced the battery but I still have the same problems.

Found my problem. The ground to the driver control module does not have a good ground. I discovered this by stripping the wire back and creating a new ground. My question is that the wiring diagram, thanks to the forum, shows that ground is on the A post. The illistration does not show exactly where the ground is. Is it under dash or on outside of A post. If it is not the A post ground I will run a new ground to the module.

I found the A post ground under the diver left kick panel. Looked good but I still cleaned the connection. Still the same problem with the window not working. I jumped a ground from the driver door control module to the A post ground. The window worked. The problem is between those two points. I did not know it but there is a connector where the door plugs into the A post. I disconnected the plug and noticed some corrosion on one of the pins. Cleaned it with electronic cleaner plugged it back and the window works great. The mirror adjustment also works a lot better. The door lock still doesn't work but I can live with that for now.
