You obviously don't understand the seriousness of the situation. Zombies are not to be trifled with. They come out in all weather, not just storms. You've seen too many MONSTER movies. Monster movies are make-believe. Zombie movies are real.

Zombies will tear through a cloth top anyway. You need to buy a Coupe to be safe.

Very cool mod though, it almost makes me want to trade for a convertible again.

I tried a similar system for my FLHR. Easily installed, but the maintenance costs can be really daunting.

Rats! I just gave away my entire supply of the fundamental components. Two other guys have them now. Well, at least I still have the horn switch.

So, not to be a troublemaker, but what if you pull up to the garage on a dark and stormy night? Does the porch light come on first, then the garage door open, then the garage light??? The sequencing here could get a little tricky.

And then, there's still the question of zombies. Just wondering.

Thats right - I can open the top with the key in the drivers (right hand side) lock. And before anyone asks, no there isn't a lock on the left hand (passenger) side.

Well, my parts are on their way but no my concern is the issue with the Zombies...wish I had read the last few threads before I ordered LOL On the other hand being in Canada maybe it gets too cold for Zombies. Kidding aside, thanks for this great feature can't wait to get it installed.

Zombies cannot rip through a convertible top. Can you take your hand and tear through the convertible top? NO! Zombies are just humans (dead humans, but still), they can't do anything we can't do. In fact, old decaying zombies lose strength. Think of ribs that have been slow cooked for 8 hours. The meat just falls of the bone. Old zombies are just like that. Fresh zombies are still pretty solid, though.

Zombies THRIVE in Canada! They are dead, so the cold keeps them fresh longer. A zombie in Miami is going to turn into a pile of goo in a week. In Canada, however, they can last a month in the summer, or all 10 months of your Canadian winter.

Hey Rev, bring them on,we have special Canadian hockey sticks just for them. I will defenitely let you know how I make out and as soon as I get the Walnut finished for my head unit trim I'll post pictures. Thanks again guys

My parts came in yesterday, but I think they substituted the relays. I'm going to call them today to see if they are integral negative spike suppression. If they aren't is there anything I can do to correct or should I reorder. They are Absolute RLS 125 12-VCD Spdt 30/40 A. Thanks

You can put a rectifier diode (such as 1N4001) across the coil. It would need to be reverse biased. If you look at the schematic in appendix A, this means the (+) side if the coil gets wired to the side of the diode that has the white stripe (the cathode).

Alternatively, I have a limited supply of these. I can sell you three for $12 plus whatever actual shipping charges are.

Just keep the diode wired close to the relay (within an inch or two [5 cm] should be fine).

I'm not too clear, I have the schematic out and not sure which relay it gets wired to. Do I have to put one on each. I'm assuming it has to be about .5cm from blade #86.

Each of the relays (all 3) need the diode.

It goes between blades 85 and 86 on each one.

The striped side of the diode goes to blade 86, the other side to blade 85. (5 cm or less to each blade will work, the shorter the wires the better, but .5 cm is not necessary).
