Thanks for pointing that out.

I looked at a '99 wiring diagram and I see the differences. I'll do a revision to the instructions to point out the differences.

LOL! A zombie-free day is essential when working on a Jag.

WhiteXKR - The above quote was my response to your original "...you know you want to!!!" statement. Even though that was the first response on this thread and I've made several comments along the way, I don't think I have officially asked to be on the list for notification of the first-run kit. Consider this to be that request.

Thanks,

Default Progress Update!

I just wanted to post a little update.

I have made a full prototype and have gone through some pretty exhaustive testing. Here is a photo of the prototype:

Name: proto-1.jpg
Views: 68
Size: 103.1 KB

I believe that it is now ready for prime time, so I have ordered the production printed circuit boards and the parts to start producing these.

For those who have missed this thread, this module will allow you to raise and lower your top using your existing remote control from outside of the car. It also lets you reverse the top or stop it's motion for safety.

The final version will have color coded wiring matching your vehicle, so you simply have to match the colors to the car wiring to install it. Connections are made with included Posi-taps, which are reliable wire connectors that are extremely easy to use.

I also worked hard to make the design very robust and tolerant to wiring errors and the rigors of an automotive environment. The design also has six LEDs that will give you positve confirmation that it is installed correctly and help to identify the problem in the unlikely event there is an installation issue.

Look for the production version to be available within a month or so.
