Electric window problem, goes down one notch each time you pull door handle "FIXED"
- Each time I pull the door handle from inside or outside, the side window on the will go down one notch.
- It does not go up one notch after the convertible top has been lowered.
- When I lower the top, the left window will jerkingly lower several steps and then stop.
Something is very wrong here. 2000 XK8 convertible. Happened after I installed dynamat on the door.

Try resetting the window stop points; the procedure is outlined in the owners manual. The quick version is first have the car key to on, then hold the switch until the window is at the bottom and then hold 5 seconds, then hold the button until the window is at the top and then hold 5 seconds. Do this for both sides. You will have trained the window where the top and bottom are.

Electric problems with the windows, but not only
Hello everyone,
I just took over my new (old) young timer XK8 convertible of 1997 6 imported from USA to France and i discovered the first major problems… (posted the request for the electric; schematics days before, had it -thanks to this forum and especially Norri 😊 ).
But the problem looks a bit more complex…what is not working
1. Remote control of the door & boot locking/unlocking
2. Power seats (both)
3. Windows (the both doors) – note the small back windows works when pushing “roof” button
4. Convertible roof opening/closing
5. Front lights
6. Etc. (not discovered all points yet).
So, it looks like some general electric issue…maybe easy to solve…or not?
Would anybody has any idea where to begin?
Thanks in advance for any thoughts.
