1997 XK8, Check engine light is on and dash reads engine fault, poor performance. code scan is P0171, P0174. check and changed filter, cleaned contactor on MAF plug, examined air tubes no cracks. Cleaned MAF sensor with MAF Spray.
Anyone else know what else might be up.

171 and 174 are lean conditions - if you have no leak between maf and throttle body, recommend checking fuel conditions - pump working, fuel to fuel rail, injectors to start

I had the same codes...checked everything and still there. Changed the MAFS and all problem solved. The MAFS has a hotwire in it and they do wear out.

 

Thanks to all for the input, fuel filter changed, fuel pressure checked ok cleared codes and they have not returned
