Default Engine oil cooler feed hose c2n2208

Looks to be NLA, that's a pita, I've just dropped off mine to a hydraulic hose repair shop, hope they are successful.

Anyone else had a successful repair done to theirs?

Fingers crossed.

I had to take off both feed lines as I couldn't get them separated while on the car. Easy enough once in a vice.

Jaguar addressed this when I worked at the dealer.

Make the hose shop know the fitting have to be clocked pretty close with the short hoses.

Yes, I made a point of discussing that with them.

Here's hoping the repair shop can indeed restore your hose assembly to proper condition. Keep us posted on what they wind up doing for you....

Also, I spoke with SNG Barratt here in the U.S. about these oil cooler lines in mid-April. They quoted me a full kit to replace all components in the system. Their quote included oil cooler feed hose C2N2911, oil cooler feed hose C2N2208, oil cooler return hose MJE7471AB, oil cooler return hose MJE7461AB, 4 O-rings KSR609001, and 2 O-rings KSH119530. So these parts may still be available through SNG Barratt (although they are stupid expensive)....

SNG UK show it is "special order", and Jag told me today they were NLA and no plan to restock.

Perhaps there is still some stock in the US.

My hydraulic shop came through, £27.50, and a perfect fit. The car is now back on the road.

Well done. If and when the time comes for my wife's 2006 XK8, I hope I can find a local hydraulics shop that can do the job....

Did you also source new O-rings? If so, from where?

Yes, I replaced the O rings, I have a few o ring kits and just matched up with the closest in the kits, the closest match came from an imperial rather than metric kit.

I have both generic metric and imperial kits. I can't see any real difference between them.

I found out something new today, after assembly I started the engine to check for leaks and noticed after 10 minutes the oil cooler and pipes were still cold.

This is why.

here’s more detail, showing the valve and oil path. It’s been posted in the previous oil cooler topics if searching for more information about the oil cooler and assorted issues is desired.

Good one ya! That sounds very reasonable to me. Didn't your hose guy have a yacht payment due this month? Mine seems that I should send his kids to college for the privilege of having hoses fitted by he and his shop. Bragging rights I suppose. Glad you solved the problem. TM

Hey All

This is a well timed thread for me because my cooler lines are out of my car right now and I am having a hard time finding someone to do this repair/new hoses. I think you will find that when it comes to automotive fittings most hydraulic repair places do not have these fittings. Another issue is there is no way for them to recrimp new hoses to the existing pipes. The only way to reuse your old pipes is to find a shop that can weld on new ends so they can fit new hoses. So far I have found one shop that will do it for $50 per weld or $400 total (8 welds) for all four cooler lines. What I'm considering now is buying the two front lines new (feed and return) for approximately $300 and having the rear lines rebuilt for $100 each. For some reason, probably supply issues, the rear lines are priced at over $500 so I think it makes sense to have these two repaired at the shop for $100 each. So what I'm finding is replacing these hoses is an expensive maintenance issue regardless of how you approach it.

My last stop before moving forward is to check out another local shop this week that was highly recommended. I'll keep updating my progress or lack there of lol

Cheers all!

Andrew

I now ready this thread with interest, I too am having a few issues, as my post today shows. Agreed the engine to line interface would be ideal way forward, then make lines to a different oil cooler. I have the mocal one on and am working ways to get the feed and return to the cooler. Oil lines using AN fittings can be very easily done once the lines are able to get to the little engine port... Really annoying place to have them, especially if you have a bigger supercharger lower pulley. I had been temped to cut the lines off the crimp fitting then just use the end and clamp on an oil hose using a heavy duty hose clamp (not the work gear type as that would be strong enough). The small pipe that goes the the engine, once the crimp is removed is actually beaded but I dont think it would withstand the pressure.in the line. I have seen others do it on this forum and they are still going strong but i have just about gotten over the near heart failure i hade when my pipe had only a small tear/rip/gash in it and the pressure sprayed the whole of the front engine bay as well as spreading back with oil. At least my underbody wont rust for a while....

Did you read my post? That is exactly what my hydraulic shop did.

Show your shop this picture and tell them it's possible. Old pipe and new hose.
