I'll have a look. I see two potential candidates when I search. It'll probably be tomorrow night. If I get to the end of the job and don't have a replacement, I'll just disconnect it and not crash until I can get a replacement.

You don't have any spare (dead) throttle bodies perchance? I'd like to replace that broken part. I don't think it will cause problems with just that chunk missing but better not to take chances. I'll patch it until I can find a replacement I think.

I just found a sale on a new throttle body out of Europe. I was looking at them for upper shock mounts and decided to check out specials. Looks to be more than half off.

The unit pictured in the add is for a AJ26 Engine.
Richy_T has a AJ27 Engine.

I'm not going to pay for a whole new throttle body. This is just the piece of plastic the cable attaches to and looks like it should come apart quite easily. I'm sure it won't be too hard to find someone with an old, dead TB that they'll part out for a few bucks. Or maybe I can 3d print one

Can you take a picture? That would make identifying it a bit easier.

Will do. The parts I see online appear to have part numbers on them so I should be able to get a good pic of that.

The component is HJE-9667-CC. It is a small black box with a hole for a bolt and a connector.

Although I crunched some of the case off, the circuit board inside looks OK so I may just try wrapping it in electrical tape for now. However, I would appreciate a known-good version. I suspect there is a risk from moisture getting on the circuit board.

I am now about an hour away from being finished with the putting-together. Unfortunately, I don't have the correct power steering fluid and ATF fluid. hopefully I will be able to find that in the morning.

On that note, does anyone know if there would be enough transmission fluid left in the transmission to get to a transmission place? It's a job that looks like it would be a PITA to do myself and I wouldn't mind paying someone at this stage.

That's assuming it even fires up tomorrow of course.

Yay, we have blastoff. Took a bit of cranking but I was expecting that. Sounds real sweet. After a spot of lunch, it'll be topping up the ATF, putting the remainder of the bits and pieces back on, some air in the tires then a bit of a test drive.

I have a CEL though hopefully that's just a hangover from the old engine though.

Done. The ATF top-up was a lot easier than expected. Everything else went together smoothly though I'm a little unsure of the organization of some of my hoses.

So then I went for lunch Nice driving it again. The trac issue is back, unfortunately. Though that had started reappearing back before the oil-out deal. I thought I had done a good job of soldering but I guess I'll just have to take another look. At least that was a straightforward job. Hopefully it isn't the sensors this time.

I cleared the CEL and it hasn't returned yet. Though I know the issue needs to trigger three times before it shows the light. But it was "Lean bank 1" which was on the old engine and *should* *hopefully* therefore no longer be an issue.

I forgot about the annoying wheel wobble. I think it happened after I had the tires changed so it may be a balance issue. I had them rebalanced but it didn't seem to help so I'll take it to a pro.

Other than that, it just needs a jolly good clean now.

Anyone need a used slightly-non-functional engine?

Well done on the changeover!

I'm assuming your non-functional unit is an AJ-27? Remind us what the fatal blow was?
