engine will not turn HELP
Hi, Just bought a 1999 xkr from a poice recovery auction. Got the car yesterday andthe engine is dead. all the lights come on and i have no warnings on the dash obard. I was told to disconnect the battery and charge it but is was showing in the middle of 9 and 13 volts on the meter in the car. I charged the battery but now every time i reconnect the battery the alarm goes off straight away. Can anyone help out with this as i am wanting to hgear it running and take it out for a drive. The car was recoverd by the police after it was stollen and i can not see anything missing from the car or engine that would be obvious to me. Like i said before any help would be great.

shouldve bought my car from a recovery auction lol. congrats on the purchase and im sorry to here about your situation. it does sound like maybe the alarm is not allowing your car to turn on. your going to have to take that key fob to your dealer to get it programmed. im not sure if the cars needs to be there though ive never had to do it

Have you programmed the fob to the car?

The problem I see is that you might not be able to program the fob if the car is in alarm. When you turn the key on I think the alarm is supposed to be deactivated, so maybe you can program the fob after the key is turned on. Here's how to program a 2006. I think it applies to your MY, too. https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s...hlight=program
