Mike,

I've moved your post from General Tech Help section to XK8/XKR section. You'll get advice from more members with the same vehicle here.

It'll help if you add details of Model Year and any codes.

Cylinder Wash - is this your problem? Did you run your engine for just few seconds or a minute, and now it won't start?
Detailed Procedures for Starting an Engine that ran for a moment and now won't start. (thanks Gus).

I had the exact same issue. Never did figure out what was wrong with it.

If you conclude that it's not cylinder wash and it still won't start then take it in to a place that you trust or take it to a dealer. Please do whatever you can to avoid the situation I'm in.

You need to reset the windows every time you disconnect the battery. You do this by putting the window all the way up and continuing to hold the button until you hear a little click then run the windows down and hold until you hear that same click. Windows are then reset and should work fine.

Reset the Window Memory:

With the Door Closed, Raise the Window and continue to hold the Switch on for 3 more seconds.

Repeat for Window Down.

Repeat for Other Door.
